HIKING MOUNT OLESEKUT
Mount Olesekut is a relatively lesser-known hiking destination in Kenya, offering a unique and rewarding experience for adventurers. Located about 65km from Nairobi, this mountain provides stunning views, diverse flora and fauna, and a sense of tranquility away from the bustling city. Mount Olesekut summit on the Oloroka mountain range offers a moderately easy hiking safari through the Maasai community that takes about 5 to 6 hours to complete covering approximately 17km. Completing the hikes gives one a sense of accomplishment as it makes the day refreshing and full of fun away from busy city. Olesekut is the most amazing hill bordering Oltepesi on your way to Magadi, the hiking safari is a thrilling day excursion into the Maasai land, the hill is Maasai communal land and must be respected as such.

How to get to Olesekut.
Olesekut can be accessed by the road transport from Nairobi.
Here you take Langata Road till Bomas of Kenya, turn right on to Magadi Road, and drive past Ongata Rongai, Kiserian and Corner Baridi till Kisamis, then branch off to the right on to the Ngong circular road and drive past the bridge till you get to J.M Kariuki’s memorial marker at the site where his body was found back in 1975. Turn left and drive towards ole Sayeti until you find a Manyatta where you will park your vehicle and get ready for the trail.

Itinerary
✓ Departure from Roysambu Infront of Jewel Complex by 5:30AM.
✓ Departure time from CBD opposite International house by 6:00AM
✓ Hike start by 8:00AM
✓ Finish hiking by 3:00PM and get ready for a return journey.
